New Insights on Memory

by Linda Heron Wind, Ph.D.

I keep wondering what is happening to my memory. It could be that I am just getting old, although that doesn't really explain why younger people are experiencing the same problem. Plus, I hear it from nearly everyone and there are even internet jokes going around about it - you know, where you go to turn on the computer and see the mail that needs to be mailed and you pick it up to take it out to the mail box but on the way you see that the plants need watering, so you set down the mail to go get the water can but pass the sink where the dishes need doing…….and at the end of the day nothing is done.

For a while I was accepting the theory that my DNA and/or brain was being rewired and it was a little like upgrading the memory in a computer - some things are lost or temporarily unavailable. But recently I have a new theory that I am testing. I had heard once that species that were becoming extinct on Earth were really going to a higher dimension to wait for our arrival. I'm not so sure about that, but, I reasoned, a more plausible idea is that our memories are evolving faster than we are and that they are waiting for us in a higher vibration or dimension.

This is certainly a testable theory and I invite you to test it out with me.

The predictions from this theory are that we experience memory loss when we are in a lower vibration and that memory can be accessed by moving to a higher vibration. Now, I don't know about you, but I think that my vibrational level varies a great deal from moment to moment throughout the day. If I experience something or have a thought while in a high vibration and then my focus shifts to something that moves me into a lower vibration, the previous thought becomes unavailable or "forgotten." Later in the day when I move back to a higher vibration the memory appears again.

When I ask myself whether I experience more memory loss when my mind is feeling fuzzy (a sign of lower vibration) than when I am feeling sharp and clear (an indication of high vibration), I certainly feel that the answer is yes. So one way to test this theory is that the next time you forget something, rather than worrying about it and trying hard to remember it (both of which keep you in a low vibration), stop for a moment and breathe, feel gratitude, think about what you love, or do anything that raises your vibrational rate. If the theory is correct, you will have your memory back.

Of course, the most difficult issue is when you don't know that you have forgotten something. We can test this one out by stopping every so often during the day, like every half hour for example, to adjust our vibrational rates. This would at least make it more likely that we would access forgotten material before it is too late to use it, like turning off the boiling teakettle before it burns up or calling the dentist office before it closes.

Now perhaps this theory will not stand up to the test we are giving it, but, even if it does not, we will have gained a new level of mastery in moving ourselves quickly into a higher vibrational state. This alone is worth the effort of this project. Please report your findings to me by email and I will summarize them in the next newsletter.

Memory evolving
To higher vibrations now
We must meet it there

High vibration now
Mastery of attention
New way of being
