Weaving and Mending the Fabric of Life
by Linda Heron Wind
I heard a quote once that said, "The universe is not made up of atoms, it is made up of stories." Something about that feels so true and the awareness tucked within its vibration has been unfolding within me. This is the information that has come to me about how stories are woven into our lives and how to free the stories to shift consciousness.
Truth can be identified as a feeling - not an emotion -
that can be described as knowingness in your heart. Try to feel this -
"You are perfect just the way you are. Everything that happens in
your life is designed to move you into greater awareness of the perfection
that is already there." What does that feel like? Maybe a nice warm
peaceful feeling in your heart area? So, if a story does not bring about
that feeling, it simply is not true. Let's take another example. Suppose that you
grew up feeling not good enough and you have a group of stories about
not being good enough that are strung on the polarity of "good enough
and not good enough." When the story talks about being "good
enough" you feel happy and when the story is about "not being
good enough" you feel depressed. Pulling out those two emotions and
listening to their wisdom, we hear them whisper, "Neither story is
true, you simply are and all you need to be is you." Does that feel
true? Perhaps your mind might want to argue with this since the mind does
not like to give up its stories, but put the mind on hold a minute and
just feel it. So what happens when you have freed all your stories? Stories are about the past and future. When you step out of your stories you step into the present moment, the acceptance of what is, without grasping it or projecting it or interpreting it based on the past. What would it be like to live without stories? Viewing the tapestry of freed stories from unity consciousness reveals an amazing dance of light and dark, fullness and emptiness, sound and quiet. A sense of peace settles into my heart while my mind rushes in to construct a new story!
