What's Happening?

In case you were wondering what all the chaos is about right now, we have been sitting in the doorway between the Solar Eclipse that was on January 26th and the Lunar Eclipse that will happen on February 9th. The half-way point between the two was Candlemas (the cross-quarter day half way between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox) on February 2nd. This felt like a very powerful gateway. It moved me to look ahead for 2009 to the other eclipses. Let me give you a preview!

July 7th is a Lunar Eclipse, followed by a Solar Eclipse two weeks later on July 21st, followed by another Lunar Eclipse two weeks later on August 5th - an interesting triple gateway! Then, if that weren't enough, the next Lunar Eclipse is on December 31st with a Blue Full Moon (second full moon within the same month) while Mercury is in retrograde. I am not sure yet what this all means but what I do know is that it feels like a lot of very powerful eclipses as we move through the gateway of this 11 year in 2009.

This current Full Moon Eclipse in Leo will propel us forward into action and to celebrate together the new light shining into the world. When we allow our light to shine fully and come together in harmony, only beauty can be created on this sweet Earth!

Celebrating the Light - Come together and create a circle of light with others. Share with a talking stick how you will allow your light to shine more fully in the coming year. What is needed for you to come into greater integrity with your beliefs? Do a releasing ritual together to let go of what blocks your light from shining into the world. Support each other by holding energy for the desired change over the next lunar month.

Meditation Exercise

Finding the Light of Integrity - Get into a comfortable position and take a few deep breaths, dropping a root down into the Earth and breathing branches and leaves up into the Sky and Stars. Imagine that you are in a beautiful place in nature. Call in a guide, in whatever form it chooses to take, that can teach you about integrity. Ask it to show you where you are out of integrity and blocking the divine light from shining through you. Notice what the guide says, does, or shows you. Perhaps it might just be a feeling level of knowingness. Ask how to remove the block. You can also ask where the light is able to shine through and how that is useful to the world. Whenever you are ready you can come back into your body and take a deep breath, opening your eyes.

One With the Alligators

Integrity is something we all like to think we have but is probably more likely something that we are working towards having more of. It requires a high level of mastery to have true integrity. What exactly does integrity mean? It means that everything about you - inside and outside, what you do, say, think, and feel, consciously or unconsciously, all fit together. If that is true, you become what could be called a coherent light source or a clear vehicle for divine light that knows itself to be one with all things.

In the ancient mystery schools in Egypt, when one reached this level, the test was to swim through alligator infested waters in the dark. If you were had mastered integrity enough that you could become one with the alligators, you came out the other side, if not you became one with the alligators in a different way - by being eaten. When you become totally integrated within yourself and the divine light comes through you unobstructed, you know yourself to be one with everything in creation.

Now most of us are not at the level that we are ready to try the literal alligator test, but we get the same test nearly every day in a metaphorical way. What would get you eaten by an alligator is, of course, fear, because fear is what creates separation when one part of us sees itself as separate from the whole of creation and therefore capable of being injured by something. We could say that whenever fear of anything comes up, you become alligator bait!

If we could instead look at fear as what it really is - false evidence appearing to be real - we could use it to track down whatever part of us is out of integrity and heal the separation. Fear only creates more separation if left unchecked. If instead we see the alligator as our friend and part of us, we can connect with it and it will not eat us. A good way to create greater integrity is to look at what scares you and where your beliefs, actions, thoughts and feelings are not consistent. For example, do you believe that gratitude for what you have brings abundance and then think that you are lacking something? Do you believe that the universe will support you and then fear losing your job?

Try to become one with whatever scares you, holding feelings of connection and working together to create whatever your desired outcome will be. It doesn't matter if the fear is about your physical health, mental health, finances, job, relationship, or safety, become one with the outcome that you wish to create.

Creating connection and integrity will move you out of fear and safely through the alligator infested waters of our daily life in this modern mystery school!
