Winds of Change
New
vision and inspiration for the journey. Full Moon Newsletter - September 2008
September 15, 2008, Full Moon in Pisces
Doorways opening Moon in watery Pisces brings our emotions to the surface so we can hear their messages from the depths of our souls. Our emotions let us know what is working and what is not, and where we are still caught in believing what we see rather than seeing what we believe. As we move toward the Fall Equinox on Sept 22, Grandmother Bear calls us into the dreaming cave and the darkness once more to where the seeds of change are resting, waiting to be released in the new cycle. We must ask what can be released and composted to make way for new patterns that nurture our bodies and souls. Perhaps some time alone would be helpful. Listening deeply

Mystery School Course (Available in workbook form with CDs, without email
support or discussion group - $40) Pathway to the Stars: Entering the Circle of the Soul Mystery School takes us on a journey to higher consciousness and the embodiment of the divine energy that we are. A prerequisite to using the laws of the universe, such as the Law of Attraction, in a conscious and deliberate way, is to be in alignment with your Higher Self or Soul. Manifestation from a lower level of consciousness usually brings us more lessons on mastering ourselves rather than the result that we desire. This course helps you to master each level of consciousness so that you may become a more conscious creator in your life. This Mystery School course consists of five lessons. Each lesson includes written material with illustrations for study, a lecture, meditation exercises, homework that is emailed to Heron, and discussions questions for the discussion board. Everyone taking the course has access to the Discussion Group so opportunity is available to connect with others who are studying the same Material. You may work through the lessons at your own pace. Energy to Dreams!
Entering the Dreaming Cave - Get into a comfortable position and take a few deep breaths to relax. Breathe a root down deep within the Earth and then branches and leaves up through the top of your head into the Sky and Stars. Imagine that you are walking through the woods in the fall with shafts of light coming through the trees to illumine the leaves of red, orange, and gold that have fallen on the path. As you look ahead you see a large bear who is looking at you. You can hear her in your mind, talking to you and inviting you to come with her. As you approach she asks you to climb on her back and she lumbers off while you grasp the fur on her back and feel her rhythm beneath you. She approaches a cave entrance and tells you to hold on as she enters into the darkness. You smell the dampness and still feel her lumbering body beneath you. Down you go into the dark cool cave until you reach a place where there is a dim light. You slide off her back and follow the light as you enter a large chamber with a glow. Look around to see what seeds of visions and dreams are held here. Perhaps they will appear as markings on the walls or maybe there is a guide here that will assist you. Stay for as long as you like and when you are ready, Grandmother Bear will carry you safely back up into the light and you can return to your body, to the present. Enter the darkness
Article Learning to Love the Darkness
Western culture has vilified the darkness.
We place all our fears of the unknown there and try to avoid it by leaving
the lights on. That is not how we were born as we came from a small dark
place that was quite cozy. Yet this modern world is one of polarities
- light and dark; good and bad; right and wrong. We shudder to think of
the darkness within or outside. Transcending polarity requires that we
explore and make friends with the darkness and know it to be a different
form of the light. Not all cultures feel frightened of the darkness,
especially those that honor the cycles of nature. At this time of year
the leaves fall from the trees and the petals fall from the roses. As
nature moves into the darkness and death appears to reign, all is not
as it seems. The energy of the tree and the rose is drawn down into the
roots where it rests and waits until spring and the light returns. If
we were in balance with the Earth, we too would drop down into our roots
and rest more. I am sure that the people who lived here without artificial
lights did just that, telling stories, sleeping and dreaming. Is it any
wonder that our bodies that are of the Earth wish to sleep more and feel
less like running about? Eastern traditions see the light and darkness in balance,
as in the yin-yang symbol. Others see the dark as the destroyer of form
that must occur for new growth or birth to take place, as in the goddess
Kali. Form is always arising out of the void or darkness and then dissolves
back into it again. Change is the ongoing force of the universe as form
is impermanent, a Buddhist teaching. As we make friends with the darkness, we learn to
appreciate the ways that the dark comes to us. Sometimes it is a cloud
of unknowing that envelopes our lives and we live in uncertainty for awhile.
Other times it is physical exhaustion that forces us to rest and come
back into balance with our bodies and nature. It can even appear as great
loss that pulls us down into the depths of the ocean of despair. Darkness
can also be a gentle quieting that leads us into contemplation. However
it comes, welcome it as the friend that it is. Only a good friend would
go to such lengths to bring us back to our senses, to our wholeness, to
balance!
