What's Happening?

Intensity, I believe, has become a way of life for most of us. As we move into the first Full Moon of 2007, our resolutions might be to do all of those things that help us to stay centered in the midst of change, whether it is meditating daily or eating food that nourishes our physical well-being. Intensity is forcing us into a life-style that supports our growing spiritual consciousness, like it or not! 2007 is a 9 year in a 9 year cycle. That means that collectively humanity is moving into a year of completions. It is time for us to live what we have been learning for the past 9 years.

The Full Moon in Cancer highlights the choices that we have - to respond to intensity with being overwhelmed, defensive and resistant or to stay centered amidst the chaos. Create space for your spirit, emotions, mind and body to be nurtured. Use water to soothe your ruffled feathers and keep you in the flow of life.

Year of completion
The ending of a cycle
Finish things, clear space

Ritual

Visuals to dream with - Spend some time on this full moon looking for pictures, or creating pictures, that represent what you want to bring into your life. Place them where you will see them each day - on an altar, on the bathroom mirror, on the refrigerator. Whenever you see them take a moment to feel what it will be like to have this in your life and hold that good feeling as long as you can. End with a prayer of gratitude to give thanks for it coming into your life.

I see and feel it
I'm grateful for its presence
Here in my life now

Meditation Exercise

Living as if - Get in a comfortable position and take a few deep breaths to ground yourself and relax. Imagine yourself in a crystal cave, like the one that Merlin taught Arthur in. Beautiful crystals all around you give off a beautiful glow, like being in the inside of a geode. The crystals may be many different colors and they sparkle like the moonlight on new snow. Take a moment to get clear about what you would like to manifest in your life. Then see yourself living your live as if whatever you want is already be here. How would you feel inside? What actions would you be taking in your life? Really get into the feeling and visualizing. You might imagine your life as a movie and then step into the movie so it feels like it is really happening. Stay with this visualization as long as you like and when you come back into present time and space, hold the feeling of what you want already being here.

Holding the vision
Feeding it with my feeling
Calling it to me

Choices

Linda Heron Wind, Ph.D.

As we move into the New Year and set our goals and New Year's resolutions, I am looking at the role of visions, manifestation, choices, and surrender in my life. It feels like the last few years have been about learning to surrender to what is, to accept the moment and what arises with it. I have discovered that joy, peace, and happiness are inner processes and inner choices. When confronted with outer unpleasant circumstances, I remind myself that I have a choice of how to experience whatever is present. More and more I am making inner choices to be in joy. Choice about inner experience, I believe, is the first step in mastering choices.

The second step is to master outer choices - choosing actions one takes in the physical world. I could sit and observe life go by and be perfectly happy inside without ever taking any action, but that doesn't seem like there would be a point to being here. Whatever action I take in the world could stem from my awareness or from my unconsciousness. If it stems from awareness, my choice is a conscious and deliberate outgrowth of my beliefs and values. If it is unconscious, it arises from emotions and unresolved issues that are often in conflict with my beliefs and values. Mastering outer choices requires one to first adjust the inner attitude and come into awareness. Then the choice can be made on a more conscious level. Being mindful with the emotions that arise, rather than acting on them, allows one to come back to awareness in a gentle and loving way.

The next step is to master choosing what shows up in one's life. When you can choose your inner experience to an outer event and the action you take in the world, you are ready to manifest events. Books on manifestation always make it sound so simple, and it is if you have mastered the first two steps in making choices. When you manifest, you are using the law of attraction to bring to you what you desire. The law of attraction is a vibrational law where vibration attracts like vibration. So if you are vibrating the frequency of something that you desire on an inner level, it will be attracted to you on an outer level.

To begin the vibrating on an inner level, you must first decide what you want to manifest, then you visualize it, feel it, and act as if it is already here. The tricky part is to keep your unconsciousness from counteracting the vibration you are sending out into the world. The unconscious often sounds like, "That can never happen, I can't do that, I don't deserve that, etc." Sometimes these thoughts may come up and they remain minor blips on the radar screen if we immediately release them. If we allow them to command our emotions, however, the vibration is interrupted and manifestation is either delayed or canceled. So you can see why learning to master your inner choices is critical in the process of manifestation.

When you act as if what you desire is already here, you must choose outer actions that are vibrationally consistent with it. For example, I am working on creating an online training for the mystery school. I must get clear about its purpose, visualize it, feel it, and take actions in the outer world to support it. Those actions might involve writing, recording meditations, organizing materials, creating graphics, and meditating on content. All of these actions vibrate at the feeling level of the completed training and help to call it into being. If I am acting as if it is already here, the process of creation is simply allowing what is already created to emerge. The actions themselves are not what creates the finished product, it is the resonance of the actions that attracts the completed training. If the outer actions I take do not resonate with what I want to bring into being, the energy is conflicted.

While this might sound like a complex process, it is something that all of us are already doing. When we do it with awareness of what we are doing and we have control over our inner responses and outer actions, then we become the magicians in our lives. It is a simple process but it is not always easy to stay aware and at choice. As we move into this New Year perhaps we can all visualize ourselves choosing what supports the emergence of a more loving, peaceful, and abundant world for ourselves and Earth.

From my awareness
I become the magician
Master of choices
