Don't fight with what is
Bring loving kindness and peace
Into each moment

Surrender to now
Even pain can be perfect
What I need is here

What's Happening?

Intensity is continuing as we find ourselves in the portal between the 11/11 and the 12/12. It is such a huge leap from where we are in our knowing to actually being what we know. The world is so out of balance at this time that we teeter back and forth between the new world of balance and the old world of craziness. It is definitely a time of choosing to live from the inside out and that means letting go of a lot of the illusion that we have tended to cling to.

The Full Moon in Gemini reminds us of the spider web that connects us all. The more we connect with others, communicating about what is really important to us, the more we feel supported by the web. This holiday season is the perfect time to step into a different pace and relationship with time. As we move toward the winter solstice on Dec 21, we can become fertile ground for the incoming light and the dawning of a new time. More people than you know long for something different, for a new way of living. Share your dreams and visions with who ever you are with and listen to theirs, for this is the best gift you can give.

Webs of beauty are
Being woven by our love
Encircling Earth

Mastering the Circle of the Soul - December 3, 2006 1-4 pm
We must step into the Circle of the Soul from the four directions, leaving at the gateways the old patterns of the heart that keep us from accessing the wisdom of the soul. When we step through the gates we access soul awareness and consciously embody our divine presence and awareness.

Ritual

Honoring Spirit Family - On a sheet of paper draw a large circle. Put your name at the center and arrange around the center the people you see as your closest spirit family. Place this spirit family mandala on your altar. Continue placing names on this circle as we move from Full Moon to New Moon on Dec 20th just before the solstice. On the solstice light a candle and set it in the center over your name and continue this practice through the new year. As you light the candle each day, send love and light to all your spirit family and to all those with whom they are connected as you feel a sense of the web of connection that holds us all in the light.

Family of Spirit
Each heart connected to heart
Lights interwoven

Meditation Exercise

Web of Light - Get comfortable and take a few deep breaths to relax. Imaging that as you breathe in there is a light in your heart that gets brighter and as you breathe out the light expands out into the world. You might imagine that you are standing or sitting in a circle of friends who are also meditating in this way. Their light comes into your heart and yours goes out to them. As you continue receiving and sending light from heart to heart, notice the delicate web that is created by the light moving back and forth from you to others and from them to you. Shining strands of light forming a beautiful web in the center of the circle.

You become aware that similar strands are forming outside the circle as you are being breathed by others in your life and they are breathed by you. The web continues to expand, covering Earth in a web of light that shimmers and glows. You are part of this web of connection, this web of light through which spirit flows. Feel spirit moving as light in and out of your heart, each time you breathe. Allow yourself to feel supported by the web and stay in this circle as long as you wish. When you are ready come back into your body, still aware of this web that is created by your living breath.

Breathing in the Light
I feel you within my heart
Breathing out the web

The Giving of Spirit

Linda Heron Wind, Ph.D.

As we approach the holiday season, so many people seem to be caught up in gifts - buying them, finding the right one, wanting to receive them, giving them out of obligation, giving them out of love. It seems each year that the Christmas retail season starts earlier and earlier. This year Christmas things were out before Halloween. Many stores opened at midnight or 5 am after Thanksgiving with sales that create a competitive atmosphere - those there first get the best price. What a strange way to prepare oneself for the rebirth of the light into the world!

We are called to get into the spirit of giving. I don't think that just means that we should buy more for more people. Instead, I would rather focus on the giving of spirit at this time of year. We can touch each other in ways that enliven and enlighten the spirit at this darkest time of the seasonal cycle. For tribal people living in community, the dark time leading up to the winter solstice was a time for sharing dreams and stories. With no TV to create stories for them, the stories told were given to them by spirit in their dreams and visions to share with each other. These stories told of how to live in right relationship with each other and Earth. They brought light and spirit into the community as everyone remembered their innate connection with the divine.

That which is freely given to us through no effort on our part is called grace. Giving with spirit is allowing spirit to work through us to bring grace to another. Sometimes it comes as a smile or word of appreciation. Sometimes it is a physical gift of something that is needed. But most often it is a genuine feeling of love and connection with another human being. Even though a physical gift can make us happy for a short time, it is the spirit that comes with it that warms our hearts from the inside forever. So allow spirit to move through you as you connect with family and friends, neighbors and strangers, sharing and listening to reweave the web of light that shines in the darkness.

Giving of Spirit
Both sharing and listening
Is the one true gift
