What's Happening?
With Mercury retrograde for the month of July
and the Full Moon in Capricorn, this is a time of looking carefully at
what foundations you are laying as we build our dreams in the physical
world. There is a mental tendency to reconsider from Mercury, but hold
fast and steady through this period regardless of the difficulties and
challenges. We are headed toward a vibrational shift mid August so it
is a good time for weeding out of our lives what does not support the
higher vibration of love and peace.

MOTHER-DAUGHTER EARTH SCHOOL
August 4-6, 2006
with Linda Heron Wind, Ph.D.
When mothers and daughters share the same deep experience
of community where each person, regardless of age, is honored for their
gifts and wisdom, magic happens! Through loving community with ourselves,
each other and the Earth, we learn how to be who we really are and the
skills to take that home to enhance the mother-daughter relationship within
the family. Children spend time in age clustered hoops as well as whole
community activities. Mothers hoop engages in similar learning and activities
that address mothering concerns as well as self-growth. Come play with
us in the beauty of nature!
FOR: Mothers, grandmothers,

DANCING INTO THE DARKNESS:
Entering the Jaguar Dreaming Lodge
September 29 - October 1
with Linda Heron Wind, Ph.D.

|
If we are to survive on this sweet Earth and move into the predicted
time of love and peace, we must learn to be the conscious dreamers of
our lives and our world. Shamans have known how to dream the world and
jaguar teaches us the secrets that the darkness holds. Together we will
make our dream masks, call on the jaguar and dance into the darkness to
bring these ancient wisdom ways more fully into our lives. Join us as
we dance, create ceremony and sacred art, and ride the jaguar into the
darkness.
TIME: Friday September
29 (6 PM) to Sunday October 1 (Noon)
COST: $120 (limited
to 15 women or men). All meals provided.
REGISTER BY: September
1 with a deposit of $60, remainder due at retreat.

Ritual

Visioning with the Moon - On the Full Moon or in
the few days surrounding it, meditate in the moonlight asking the Moon
to clear a space within you to receive a vision from spirit, or to plant
a vision that you have already received. Notice the inner attitude of
your mind and heart around this vision. Draw or write about this vision
and over the next two weeks until the New Moon, determine whether you
are willing to serve this vision without attachments to ego or outcome.
Express gratitude each day for whatever is in the present moment supporting
this vision. Each time you express gratitude and move into the present
moment with acceptance of what is, you are building a strong foundation
for this vision to manifest through you.

Meditation Exercise

Receiving Vision - Get comfortable and take a few
deep breaths to relax your body. Imagine yourself in a beautiful place,
perhaps a temple by the sea. The light of the Full Moon shimmers across
the water and also comes through a circular opening in the roof to fall
on an altar in the center of the temple. On that altar is a large round
crystal ball. You pull up a cushion and sit before this glowing orb. You
know that you must prepare your inner world to receive the vision this
crystal ball holds, so you take a deep breath and the on the out breath
surrender any ego wants, self-importance, and attachments. Breathing in
again, on the second out breath you release the past and future, coming
into the present moment. From the energy of the temple itself you breathe
in acceptance, and breathe back gratitude for the beauty that surrounds
you. Then focus on the crystal ball and allow it to shine into your heart
and receive the vision that you are to serve. When you can feel it moving
within you, thank the crystal and Grandmother Moon for assisting you.
Take some deep breaths and come back to your physical body to journal
about what has come.

Dream Manifestation

Linda Heron Wind,
Ph.D.
There are many books and teachings about how to manifest dreams into the
Earth plane, but I find that the process is a bit tricky and requires
more than a conceptual understanding to put it into effect. Generally
we are told to hold a vision of what we want and then live as if it were
already here. One could easily go bankrupt doing that alone. There are
some important steps and vibrational shifts that need to happen first
if a dream is to become physical reality.
First, it is important to weed "wanting" out of your dream vision.
There are many ways that wanting something blocks getting it and there
are no guarantees that your wanting is in line with your soul path. So
wanting something is not the same as a vision. Wanting often comes from
the ego mind in the form of attachment. We can identify attachment by
trying on a statement such as, "If my dream were to manifest, I would
be happy." If you agree with that statement, you have some inner
work to do to detach happiness from your vision.
Wanting can also come from a heart level. Because we are all related,
many of the visions and dreams that come to us involve service work that
would benefit others and the Earth. Our hearts can get attached to the
causes we serve and that can limit the possible ways in which the dreams
can manifest. Keeping our hearts in the moment and holding gratitude for
all that supports the vision in the present moment allows grace to flow
into the vision in ways that we could never imagine. Grace comes from
the divine through us into the world. It is not something that we can
make happen by wanting it. Instead we must simply be a good clear container
in the present moment, holding the vision with a feeling level of gratitude
and non-attachment.
Gratitude and non-attachment are not something you can pretend about since
they are a feeling level of vibration. Other words that are similarly
vibrationally identified are acceptance and surrender. These also cannot
be faked. When we hold a vision, we also must accept what is in the present
moment. A vision or dream cannot be a desire to escape from what is. We
must also surrender to the way in which the dream is manifesting in the
moment which is often different from what we thought it would be. Like
walking a labyrinth, while our vision is on the center, we must be present
with each step and accept the twists and turns that seemingly take us
away from that vision.
So I believe that there are three parts to manifesting a dream. First,
you must be open and have fertile ground within you to receive the vision
from spirit. It is not "your" vision as it belongs to spirit
and, thus, to everyone. Second, you must cultivate an inner attitude of
mind and feeling of heart that allows the vision to become more solid
through you. These attitudes and feelings are non-attachment, gratitude,
presence, surrender, and acceptance, and they must be practiced not just
when you are meditating or thinking of the vision, but all the time. Third,
you must take action in the world that supports the vision. This action
must grow out of that inner garden of attitude and feeling not from thinking
and trying to figure it out or make it happen.
When you have mastered the art of manifestation, you will also have mastered
yourself, for bringing things from spirit into form through you requires
a mastery of mind and heart. Co-creation with the universe is not an easy
path nor does it take us to the kind of "dreams" in which we
will have everything our ego minds want. However, we have come here to
be of service to the new time that is birthing, and as co-creators we
must become the midwives to visions of this new world as well as to a
larger vision of who we are.
From wanting to grace
The key that opens the door
Simply gratitude
