Full Moon Eclipse in Virgo
March 14 (Full Moon at 6:35 PM; Eclipse visible in the Eastern US at 6:39 PM Eastern Standard Time)

Path of harmony
Restoration of balance
Inner and outer

What's Happening?

A Virgo Full Moon helps us to see what work still needs doing while an eclipse will give us the opportunity to clear the old patterns that arise at this time. The eclipse of the moon on the 14th is followed by an eclipse of the sun on March 29th with the New Moon in Aries at 5:33 AM EST. In the middle of these two eclipses is the Spring Equinox on March 20th. Needless to say this should be an interesting time energetically and an amazing opportunity to do clearing and healing work. Take this time between the eclipses to identify and release any old patterns that you do not wish to take with you into this next cycle. Spring cleaning time!! Use the ritual and meditation below to focus your energy and use it well during this time of transformation. Whatever you focus on at this time will be multiplied by the intensity of energy coming in.

Inner Spring cleaning
Emptying out the closets
Keeping what serves you

AWAKENING SPIRITS

CHILDREN'S EARTH SCHOOL CAMPS
An opportunity to experience living in harmony with each other and with the earth

Mystery Schools over the ages taught the basic truths of the Universe that are often found at the core of every major religious and spiritual tradition. Through small group activities and exercises, community talking circles, creative arts, story telling, singing, dancing, ceremony, and sacred play, Awakening Spirits Earth School camps teach a core curriculum that emphasizes:

  • Authenticity - being in good relationship with ourselves, others and the environment
  • Accessing and trusting inner guidance
  • Working with feelings and emotions to gain wisdom
  • Developing effective communication skills - hearing and being heard
  • The role of story in our lives - telling and changing our stories

Earth School camps provide an opportunity for youth and adults to explore and practice together these teachings in a playful and loving atmosphere.

Through loving community with ourselves, each other and the Earth, we learn how to be who we really are and the skills to take that home to enhance the mother-daughter relationship within the family. Children spend time in age clustered hoops as well as whole community activities. Mothers hoop engages in similar learning and activities that address mothering concerns as well as self-growth. DANCING INTO THE DARKNESS: Entering the Jaguar Dreaming Lodge
September 29 - October 1

If we are to survive on this sweet Earth and move into the predicted time of love and peace, we must learn to be the conscious dreamers of our lives and our world. Shamans have known how to dream the world and jaguar teaches us the secrets that the darkness holds. Together we will make our dream masks, call on the jaguar and dance into the darkness to bring these ancient wisdom ways more fully into our lives. Join us as we dance, create ceremony and sacred art, and ride the jaguar into the darkness.

Ritual

Releasing Ritual - On the full moon eclipse, take some time to look at what old patterns you still are holding onto. Go deep in meditation and ask what needs to be released to move forward into this new time. Look for any part of yourself that has not yet been freed into love. Once you find this pattern or part, create a drawing with colored pencils or pens that surrounds it with love. Love is the most powerful tool we have for dissolving resistance to change. Each day between the full moon and the equinox on March 20th, sing to this part in a loving way to help free it to shift and change. If you don't know any love songs then just tone or sing a lullaby.

On the equinox, release the picture in a fire and draw a new picture that represents the new pattern or healed part of yourself. Each day between the equinox and solar eclipse on March 29th, sing or tone this new pattern or healed part into being. On the solar eclipse make a commitment to at least one action you will take daily in the physical world to support this new growth.

Love the transformer
Alchemist of this new time
Dissolves resistance

Meditation Exercise

Seeding the New Self - Get comfortable and take a deep breath or two to relax. Imagine that you find yourself walking on a path through the woods in the springtime. Smell the forest smells and see the light filtering down through the newly opened leaves above. Wild flowers are blooming throughout the woods. This path is leading you to the garden of your heart. As you approach the gate to the garden you notice the birds singing and the feeling of love shining through each plant and flower. There is a gardener who is the caretaker of this garden living in a small hut nearby. The gardener meets you at the gate and shows you what work must be done to prepare this garden for the coming season. Perhaps there are old plants still in the garden that need to be composted to provide the rich soil for new growth. If so notice or feel what old patterns these old plants represent. Perhaps there is compost of old patterns already transformed ready to spread, or you may still need to dig out a few rocks and place them lovingly in a circle at the center of the garden. They represent the blocks you are currently encountering that can be transformed into beauty.

When you are ready, talk to the gardener about what seeds of new patterns need to be planted this season into this garden in your heart and into your actions in the outer world. Plant whatever seeds feel right to plant and whatever seeds the gardener gives you. Know that you can come back to see what has sprouted and what needs watering and tending. If "weeds" (things you did not intend to plant) begin to grow, lovingly pull them and place them in the compost pile for transformation. When you are finished, imagine thanking the gardener, leaving the garden and closing the gate. As you walk back through the woods, feel the sunshine coming through the trees and come back into your physical body.

Repeat this as necessary, and go back to work with the gardener to tend this garden.

Garden of my heart
Grows the seeds that I plant there
Each word and action

Riding the High Energy Waves

Linda Heron Wind, Ph.D.

One of the things that often challenges us is to work with the waves of high energy that are coming through at this time. It would seem that high energy would feel great and we should be able to go about our daily lives feeling blissful. Sometimes this is the case, but, more often than not, high energy pushes us into our oldest patterns for releasing. "In your face and up your nose," is the best description of what it feels like to be pushed by the wave. When you resist the push or go into the same old reaction that you have had for years, the wave washes over you and turns your world upside down. And then, of course, there is the undertow!

Since we all have different places within us that are stuck and resistant to change, the experiences we each have with the energy waves looks different. A person that is very task focused and time stressed may be forced in some way just to be. If you are a person who takes care of others and not themselves, there may be a situation that requires you to take care of yourself and not others. If you are a person who is very unforgiving and hard on themselves, you may be confronted with an experience that requires your self-forgiveness for you to move forward. I think this gives you a sense of what "in your face and up your nose" looks like.

When you know what your old patterns are - where you are stuck and inflexible - it is easier to recognize why the experience you are having during an energy wave is happening. If I am aware, then I know that I have two choices: the first is to surrender and go willingly and the second is to go kicking and screaming all the way (otherwise known as suffering). Either way, I am going. Even if I find myself in the second choice and the suffering is upon me, I can surrender and move willingly into a more expansive and authentic version of myself at anytime.

"Why," you say, "would you kick and scream and resist change if you are going anyway and it is to a more authentic place." Fear. Plain and simple, fear is our prison and at the bottom of all resistance to change. Every time we are ready to move out of the small room we have been living in, into a more spacious version of ourselves, FEAR is printed in bold red letters on the door. The antidote to this venom called fear, that poisons our mind and emotions, is trust. When you can begin to interpret the feeling of fear as an EXIT sign showing the doorway out of the smallness you feel trapped in, you begin to head in the direction it tells you not to go in. "Oh yes, there is the door out of my current difficulties!" As soon as you move through the door, the feeling of fear is replaced by a sense of freedom.

So fear is really only a directional sign if we allow it to be, if we can trust that we are really on a journey of awakening that is divinely guided. As we move through this wave of energy that is associated with the eclipses and equinox, stay aware and look for the EXIT sign rather than holding on to the old furniture and fixtures of the too small self. Get on your surfboard and ride the wave into the next part of your journey!

The surf is up now
Will you ride the wave this time
Or resist its call?
