August Full Moon in Aquarius - (Aug 19, 2005 - 1:53 PM Eastern Daylight Time)

Hummingbird seeks joy
In the sweetness of flowers
Blooming this moment

Sadness and joy are
Always living within me
Which one will I choose?

What's Happening?

A flood of light is just being completed as we head into this full moon. The 14th - 18th light is pouring onto Earth and through our energy bodies, accelerating our vibration. I always feel tired when this happens, but others may feel energized or may just experience massive change in their lives. However, it affects us, the full moon in Aquarius calls us to value community and interconnectedness. We are all on this journey together and it is so much more enjoyable to know that the changes in and around us are part of this shared experience. Join with a group of friends to view the moon this month and share your stories about what is unfolding in your lives like a precious flower opening in a community garden.

Star children are here
Singing the sacred song that
Weaves the world anew

Back to the basics
One: Eat right and exercise
Two: a good attitude!

Ritual

Moon Merging - Merging with any energy around you requires you to present in the moment and focused in your intent. On one of the three days around the full moon, find a place that is comfortable outside where you can lay back to stare at the full moon. Allow yourself to feel a sense of being bathed in the moonlight, letting it enter all the cells of your body and fill your energy body with its vibration. With your eyes either closed or open, imagine yourself rising up toward the moon, as if you are carried on moonbeams. It might feel like the moon is getting larger or you are getting smaller. Continue until you feel like you become one with the moon's energy and light. Allow this merging and oneness to transform you in whatever way is for your highest good at this time. Stay with the moon until you feel a sense of completion. When you are finished, journal about the experience and the way in which you feel changed.

Merging with the Moon
Moonlight flooding inner space
Changing the landscape

Meditation Exercise

Seeing the Real - Take a few deep breaths and relax. Drop a root down from your tailbone deep into the Earth like a taproot on a tree and then breathe out the top of your head branches and leaves up to the sky and the stars. Then center yourself within your heart. Imagine that from the place of your heart you can look through a little window out into the world around you. When you look through the window you no longer see the illusion but the essence of everything and everyone. Choose something or someone that you wish to see from this perspective and look through the window at it or them. What do you see? How is it different than looking with your physical eyes? Does it feel different when you look in this way? Choose something or someone else to look at and notice again your answers to the questions. When you come back to your physical body and open your eyes, practice looking at your world with the eyes of your heart as well as your physical eyes.

Looking through my heart
I see what is true and real
God is everywhere!

This Month's Article

The Language of Illusion or the Language of Light

Language has the power to create, whether it is the spoken word or the inner dialog. On an outer level it sends out vibrations that affect all that is around us, calling like vibration to our experience. It even vibrates the cells of our bodies to dance to its rhythm. The inner more subtle vibration that is created by our self-talk entrains our emotions and likewise draws like vibrations from the void of possibilities to come into the physical world. As I become a better observer of myself I am beginning to discern the subtle differences in the language that supports the illusion and that which resonates with the heart and Light.

Nearly every major spiritual or mystical tradition teaches us that there is no time or space and that everything we ever were or will be are here now. Even physics supports this non-locality of energy and that we simply are energy. The concept of being here and now in the present moment is what we strive for and yet, even as I write these words, I am aware of the language of illusion creeping in. Both the past and future tense (in the first sentence of this paragraph "were" and "will be") are illusion for everything is now. Words such as "striving" imply that there is something that isn't here now that we are trying to get to and that is illusion also.

So I am listening to how I talk about my life as a way to become more aware of what my subconscious beliefs are about what is available to me now and what I believe is not. If my belief, for example, that I do not already have awareness creates unawareness, my attempts "to become more aware" will be futile. Now my conscious mind, while it can follow the logic of this, is having a fit because it doesn't know how to talk in the language of light. Language of the mind developed as a result of experience in the illusion and, thus, is one of the primary ways that we stay immersed in this physical dimension.

Another way to think about the language of illusion is from the perspective of how it limits our reality. I hear people all the time saying how they can't do something or that they are not a certain way. In a sense that is a command to the universe to make whatever we believe we are not appear in the illusion. The realization of our wholeness in the moment is directly related to our ability to release the limitations we impose upon ourselves by our beliefs and words. This seems like a difficult task and yet, perhaps it is the easiest thing in the world. It depends upon what we wish to believe about it.

So what is the language of the Light? It is a feeling-tone language that is made up of words, images, or simply heart resonance, but it always creates a feeling of lightness in the heart area when there is in-the-moment truth. Illusion, in this same feeling sense, seems heavy and closed by contrast. For example, saying that I have to work hard to get somewhere that I am not now, feels heavy. On the other hand, saying that I am already exactly where I need to be, feels light. With this method of feeling the resonance of particular words, beliefs and sentences, we can discern whether they support the illusion (heavy) or resonate with the Light (light).

As you continue the practice of staying in the moment, a heavy feeling will alert you to a digression your mind is making into the world of illusion. Lightness of being is a sign of presence where we are open and free to give and receive the Light and Love of the universe.

Illusion's language
Says we need to get somewhere
There's no place but here

Surrender to the Light
You are complete this moment
Nowhere to get to
