New
vision and inspiration for the journey. June 2005 Full Moon Newsletter
June Full Moon in Capricorn - (June 22, 2005 - 12:14 AM Eastern Daylight Time) Clearing my vision Surrendering to Intensity - that is what is happening right now! The full moon and the solstice (June 21) are coming together to shed lots of light and energy on whatever has been hiding in the darkness. The result is explosive, anything-can-happen energy that is keeping us on our toes and probably tired out as well. How do we handle intensity? By staying balanced,
centered, and grounded. We are being asked to be the lightning rods that
bring the light energy into the Earth for healing through ourselves and
our lives. That is no small task, but thank goodness we do not have to
do it all alone. There are many of us trying our best to ground this intense
vibrational shift through our own consciousness. Stay light-hearted, laugh
a lot, be gentle with your self, be outside in nature, eat well, and love
everything that comes into your life. It is a wild and exciting time to
be here! The full moon in Capricorn is a time for building the foundations of what is to come. Use this intense energy well to seed your visions deep into the Earth for the coming cycle. Holding my center Don't deny what is Emotional Education for Parents and Children will resume again in September. SUMMER CAMPS AND WORKSHOPS Medicine Circle - Vision Quest for Women A Medicine Circle creates a space for you to experience in solitude a deeper connection with yourself and with the whole circle of life that surrounds you. You will remain in your medicine circle, a small space in nature, from sunrise to sunset on Saturday. Preparation for this vision quest will be made on Friday in the form of cleansing and releasing rituals, talking circle and hiking out on the land to find your medicine circle. When you go out to your circle at sunrise on Saturday you will be free of the usual clutter to open up to a deeper part of yourself, to nature as teacher, and to spirit. Sunday will be a day of creating ritual art representing your experience, and, through group process and ceremony, finding ways to integrate your experience into your daily life. We will create together a loving space to explore your growing edge and celebrate the visions that come. Time: Thurs June 23 (7 PM) to Sunday June 26 (4 PM) *** Awakening Spirits Children's Earth School Camps Mystery Schools over the ages taught the basic truths of the Universe that are often found at the core of every major religious and spiritual tradition. Through small group activities and exercises, community talking circles, creative arts, story telling, singing, dancing, ceremony, and sacred play, Awakening Spirits Earth School camps teach a core curriculum that emphasizes:
Earth School camps provide an opportunity for youth and adults to explore and practice together these teachings in a playful and loving atmosphere. *** Mother-Daughter Earth School July 15-17, 2005 When mothers and daughters share the same deep experience of community
where each person, regardless of age, is honored for their gifts and wisdom,
magic happens! Through loving community with ourselves, each other and
the Earth, we learn how to be who we really are and the skills to take
that home to enhance the mother-daughter relationship within the family.
Children spend time in age clustered hoops as well as whole community
activities. Mothers hoop engages in similar learning and activities that
a address mothering concerns as well as self-growth. Come play with us
in the beauty of nature. For: Mothers, grandmothers, aunts (or other caring female adults)
and girls, ages 5-12 *** Parent-Child Earth School August 19-21, 2005 When parents and children engage in the same process of learning about
themselves, it enhances family life. We learn from each other, younger
and older and we engage in creative activities, storytelling, music making,
and playing in the woods and the water. A girls hoop, boys hoop and parents
hoop explore questions and stories and then come together to share around
a camp fire. For: parents, male and female, and sons or daughters ages 5-12 FALL WORKSHOP Dancing into the Darkness September 23-25, 2005 If we are to survive on this sweet Earth and move into the predicted time of love and peace, we must learn to be the conscious dreamers of our lives and our world. Shamans have known how to dream the world and jaguar teaches us the secrets that the darkness holds. Together we will make our dream masks, call on the jaguar and dance into the darkness to bring these ancient wisdom ways more fully into our lives. Join us as we dance, create ceremony and sacred art, and ride the jaguar into the darkness.
Shequaga is a beautiful 50 acres with creeks, waterfalls, pond, woods, and open fields owned by CIRCLE in the southern tier of NY about 50 minutes south of Rochester. A turtle shaped building houses kitchen, showers, healing room, craft room and an indoor labyrinth. Tent camping with some platforms, and great vegetarian cuisine create a great environment for living in close relationship to the Earth and her rhythms. *** More details on these Summer Camps and Workshops are available on the Workshops page of this website or the CIRCLE website www.circleinc.org. Intentions for Release and Manifestation - This is a ritual that I have suggested before but one that bears repeating. In this time of intense light we begin to see more clearly the patterns that are not working in our lives as well as the visions of how we wish to be. Cut out two 3-5" circles from construction paper. On one circle write the word for the pattern that you are releasing and on the other write the word for what you wish to bring into being. On the opposite side of each circle draw or color an image that captures the feeling level of the word you have written. Beginning on the solstice or full moon, place a bowl of water over the image that represents the pattern you are releasing. Each day empty the bowl by offering it to the Earth, refill it and place it over the circle again. Continue doing this each day until the new moon. Likewise, place a candle over the image that represents your vision. Light it each day for some period of time until the new moon. Water absorbs what you are releasing and fire energizes what you are bringing into being. Water releases
Meditation Exercise Becoming the Light - Get yourself comfortable and take a few clearing breaths. You might send a root down through your tailbone to ground yourself and up through the top of your head to open up to guidance. Imagine yourself sitting in nature somewhere in the darkness before the sunrise. You hear the sounds of the night all around you and sense that there are things close by that you cannot quite see. As dawn breaks over the land, the light becomes brighter and you see that you are not alone. There are perhaps teachers and guides, light and dark parts of yourself that are sitting with you. Silence remains until the first rays of the sun illuminate a large crystal that has been placed in the center of the circle. The rays of light instantly shoot out from the crystal to the hearts of all who are gathered there. Each one, in turn, shares with you their gift, vision, wisdom or image that adds to the illumination in your own heart until you can feel it so full of light that it bursts forth light into every cell of your body. This continues until the sun sets. You are shining brightly by the time the full moon rises. Its rays also illuminate the crystal that in turn illuminates each heart with the most peaceful, soothing and loving energy. You send light into the Earth through your tailbone and out to the trees and plants through your heart. You are the sun and the moon, illuminating the world. Light of Sun and Moon What Does It Mean to Live in the Light?
Since the beginning of my spiritual journey, I have heard
that we need to live in the Light. I have been guided recently to consider
what that really means. We stand at the point of unity, the place where
opposites collapse into sameness and everything dances around a single
point. Yet, at the same time, there seems to be a large opposition going
on within us and outside us between the light and the dark. Many spiritual
people take the point of view that the dark doesn't exist - it is all
light. And yet that is a little like saying night doesn't exist because
we never go out at night. Others see the dark as something to be conquered
or feared, chasing it away with incantations and charms. Yet, that too,
leaves us seeking only the light. It occurred to me that the Light, as in "living in the Light" really means awareness. When you are not aware, dark seems to grab you when you least expect it, pulling you down into scary places and turning your world upside down. It makes you forget who you are and your purpose here. It is like a deep depression, where everything, including life itself, loses meaning. Click here for the full article. If
