What's Happening?

The moon in Cancer shows us that the pearls of wisdom reside in the depth of our unconscious and that it is our feelings that will lead us straight to the treasures hidden there. Trust that whatever feelings come up are only there to help you free what is held in the prison of the unconscious and the illusion from which they were formed. This is the culmination of a year that has already plumbed the depths of us all, moving us steadily toward a rebirthing of ourselves. With the return of the light on Solstice it feels like something new is in the air, perhaps an unwillingness to pretend anymore that we are separate from anyone or anything. When we refuse to pretend, we must make authentic choices in our life, and those very choices are what fuel the change over to the new world.

In this season of peace, be peaceful. In this season of love, be loving. In this season of joy, be joyful. In this season of light, be filled with light.

Upcoming Workshops

Emotional Education for Parents and Children. Starting later in January, I will be offering an 8 week class in the Rochester area on emotional education for families. This is based on the PATHS program adapted to family use. Parents and children will learn to:

• Identify emotions in themselves and others
• Express emotions in adaptive and functional ways
• Identify problems that give rise to emotions
• Resolve problems in a way that works for everyone

January is a dreaming time of things to come. I am dreaming what the new year will bring and will update my website as I know more of what workshops are calling me.

Ritual

A Collection of Pearls - This ritual can be ongoing or one that is related to just this full moon. You will need a large shell (or pretty dish), some pearl beads or other beads, and a small blank book or note pad. Spend some time reflecting on the last year and what pearls of wisdom you have recovered from the deep unconscious emotions that have been brought to the surface and released. For each pearl of wisdom you can find, record it in the book and place a pearl or bead in the shell or dish on your altar. You can date your book entries as 2004 and continue the process throughout 2005. Keep the book on your altar as well so you can refer to it from time to time when your memory lapses. The shell will fill with pearls reminding your of how far you have come and how much work you are doing.

Pearls of wisdom are
Hidden in the darkest place
Beneath illusion

Meditation Exercise
The Birthing Room - Get in a comfortable position and take a few breaths to relax. Imagine that you are traveling, perhaps with an animal helper, to the Birthing Room within you where all dreams, ideas, and wisdom are born. For some it might be in the ocean with dolphins as midwifes; it might be a room filled with computers where the latest downloads are available from the divine consciousness; it could be a temple of light in the stars; it could be deep in a cave in the womb of the Earth mother. So let your imagination take you to wherever new things are born. As you enter, you see the midwife. She makes you comfortable and shows you or talks to you about the birth that is in progress within you. Notice how you feel and whether there is anything you must do to assist this birth. When you feel complete, return back again to your body in this time and space. Journal about your experience and go back if you wish to check on the progress of the birth.

Resistance and Its Relatives

Resistance is something we all feel from time to time. Sometimes it makes me cranky and other times I feel like a child stamping her feet and ready to throw a tantrum.
