March Full Moon (Introduction)

The Mind of Light is
A thousand petaled lotus
Shining from my heart

Mastery is not
Either present or not this moment
Always becoming

What's Happening?

With the sunshine and smells of Spring, waves of energy are flowing over the Earth and through our bodies - that's what is happening! We are in an energy acceleration surrounding the Equinox that is only two weeks away on the New Moon this year. The energy acceleration usually begins 3-4 weeks before the Equinox, peaking on Equinox (March 20) and then tapering off for another 3-4 weeks after. Energy accelerations are a bit like driving a car 100 mph - you need to really pay attention to stay on the road. A little distraction tends to put you in the ditch quickly! Because it raises the vibrational rate of our bodies, it also tends to create physical tiredness and bring up emotional patterns that are stuck in the lower vibrations - in other words, drama abounds!

A good way to use this acceleration is to clear whatever patterns come up, taking time to meditate and be out in nature to regenerate your body. Focus on releasing up until the Equinox and New Moon and then call vision to the clear space and fertile ground you have created within you on the Equinox day. Feed the visions in the weeks to follow.

Waves of energy
Wash away the old patterns
Lifting me higher

Upcoming Workshops

The spring Mystery School workshops will focus on exploring the East Gate to the Soul and the meditation technique for entering - shamanic journey. At the East Gate we must leave behind attachments to gain freedom upon entering the Circle of the Soul. Over the three workshops we will work with initiation by fire. Each workshop will be offered from 1-5 PM in Victor, NY. $40 ($55 for non-CIRCLE members includes membership)

March 6 - Shamanic Tools for Everyday Living
We begin with exploring the world of the shaman, traveling on the drumbeat to other dimensions and worlds. The images that greet us bear gifts for our daily journeys. The shaman's medicine bag is full of tools for transforming the obstacles in our everyday lives. As we explore these tools we will begin our initiation by making offerings of our attachments to the Keeper of the East Gate.

April 4 - Shamanic Tools for Healing
Shamanic journeys have been made for the purpose of healing since the beginning of human time. We explore the variety of ways that the shaman accesses healing energy and information as we seek to understand healing through the shaman's eyes. Initiation continues as we surrender to the fire and die the shaman's death. All that separates us is released as we are willing to sit with emptiness.

May 2 - Shamanic Tools for Self-Mastery
The shaman must master all parts of the self to become whole. As we each manifest our wholeness, the tears in the fabric of life will be healed. When we step into the place of mastery, even for a short while, we can explore the use of group energy to facilitate healing our world. They say that a shaman casts no shadow. When you stand in the fire, you become the sun and light shines from you in all directions. All shadow is consumed by the fire, and, as the phoenix rises, we will step from the ashes to a new level of mastery to be gifted with freedom in the Circle of the Soul.

Shamanic dreaming
Calls this world into wholeness
Singing its essence

Releasing all attachments
To receive clear vision

Ritual

Equinox Preparation - When we move from a Full to a New Moon it is always a time of emptying out and releasing. With the New Moon occurring on the Equinox it is an extraordinary time to move with this natural cycle to create the space for new vision to come in and the fertile ground for it to be nurtured and grow in our lives. Find a basket or bowl that you can use for this ritual. It might be nice to decorate it with some dried flowers - symbols of that which has served us but no longer is alive or brings life force energy to us. Place near this container some slips of paper and a pen. Each day sit with the container in silence and ask what needs to be released. What is it that is no longer "growing corn" within your life? Write it on the slip and place it in the bowl. On the Equinox and New Moon, burn these slips in a ceremonial fire and sit in meditation with the empty container asking Spirit to bring new vision to your life. In the days to follow journal about what comes and find ways to take concrete steps in the physical world toward these visions.

Fire transform me, take me to my passion
Fire transform me, take me to my passion
I choose life, YES! I choose courage
To dance within the flames
To dance within the flames
(song by Alisa Starkweather)

Meditation Exercise

Rainbow Bridge- With the change in the seasons it is good to move through the chakras to do some Spring cleaning and renewal of connection to source. Get your self comfortable and take a few deep breaths. Drop a root down deep into the center of the Earth. Breathe that Earth energy into the root chakra at the base of your spine, allowing it to glow with a red light. As you breath out release any darkness or "stuff" that has accumulated in the base chakra back into the Earth for recycling. When the red light has grown to a nice ball that extends in front of you and behind you a few inches, breathe again up from the Earth through the red ball into the second sacral chakra, just below your bellybutton. This area will glow orange with the in breath. Breathe out any old stuff in this area letting it return to the Earth. Continue until there is a nice ball of orange energy sitting on top of the red one. Breathe into your solar plexus yellow light from the Earth, releasing back to the Earth on the out breath, until a ball of yellow light sits on top of the orange one. Now breathe up from the Earth through the lower chakras green light into the heart chakra, clearing on the out breath, until a nice ball of green light sits on top of the yellow one.

Then breathe down from the sky and stars more green light into your heart chakra to link Earth and Sky, Earth and Heaven within you. Breathe down sky blue light from above into your throat chakra, clearing and releasing back to the sky on the out breath, until a blue ball sits on top of the green one. Breathe down cobalt blue into your third eye in the middle of the forehead, releasing back to the sky, until a cobalt blue ball sits on top of the sky blue one. Finally breathe down violet light to your crown on top of your head, releasing back to the sky, until a violet ball sits on top of the cobalt blue one. Now breathe from Earth to Sky and back again feeling the rainbow that is your chakra energy that links Earth and Sky. This is the Rainbow Bridge that will allow us to embody Heaven on Earth in this new time.

Earth and Sky unite

Inspiration

Naked Trees

The trees stand naked
Against the dawn sky
Each tiny branch exposed
On a rose colored canvas.

Even the old ones display
Their broken and branchless limbs
The younger ones dance in the wind
Wildly waving their twigs
While the old ones silently watch
Only swaying to the music.

Each one unique with different
Bends and curves here and there
All proudly displaying their splendor
To the dawn sky.

I take off my clothes and stand with them
Knowing they will accept me
With all my unique bends and curves
As one of their own.

The Shaman's Dream

The old one was sitting under the tree in the shade, appearing to be taking a nap. Osana moved closer trying to be quiet like a mouse so as not to disturb her grandmother. The shady spot was much cooler than the midday sun. She curled up quietly and started to dose herself.

"Are you dreaming little one?" The voice of the old one startled the girl and she sat up quickly.

"I thought you were asleep, Masan," she replied.

"Asleep or not - no matter - I was dreaming the world," the old woman replied.

"Dreaming the world? You mean dreaming about the world?" said Osana confused.

"Oh no - I am dreaming the world. The world you see would not be here if we did not dream it," she said with a smile.

"You're joking aren't you? I can see that you are smiling," said Osana.

"Joking? Oh no - I am smiling because I am dreaming happy dreams!" replied the grandmother. "Everyday I sit here when the sun is too hot to be out and about and I dream the possibilities into this plane of experience. When it is cold I take time to sit by the fire to dream."

Seeing that the old woman was serious, Osana was becoming curious about this dreaming process. "How do you do that? Do you just think about what you want to have happen?"

"No," answered the old one after a long pause during which she looked very intently at Osana. "No, it is much more than that. Do you want to learn how? I could certainly use your help because the more dreamers we have working the easier and quicker the dreams come to us in their physical form."

"Oh yes! I would love to learn to dream the world. When can we start?" said Osana excitedly.

"Right now. When you crawled up beside me I was dreaming the rain that we need for the crops. Close your eyes and you can help." Click here for the full article.
