February Full Moon (Introduction) I master myself Joy is cosmic glue Every breath a prayer Check out the article about Circle in the D&C What's Happening? We are approaching the halfway point between the Winter
Solstice and the Spring Equinox as I write this. It is interesting that
our culture has reduced this important time to Groundhog Day, although
there is significance in the symbolism. If the groundhog sees its shadow
there will be a longer period of winter. In old traditions it was the
day that the Earth Goddess walked across the land waking the creatures
out of their winter slumber to come out to see if it is spring yet, and,
of course, a celebration of the returning light. Perhaps it is a time that we need to look to see what parts
of our own shadow remain after our descent into the darkness this winter.
Like the groundhog, if there is shadow to be seen, we had best head back
into the burrow to shed some light on the inner shadow before it manifests
into our outer lives. Finding the inner sun dissolves the inner shadows.
What shadows are still hiding from your own inner sun? Goodness knows that we in the Northeast have not seen the sun much this winter. The grayness and darkness has moved me to places deep inside to find the inner light. It reminds me of a song that came to me a number of years ago while camping in the rain. I'm going to the sun within my heart The spring Mystery School workshops will focus on exploring the East Gate to the Soul and the meditation technique for entering - shamanic journey. At the East Gate we must leave behind attachments to gain freedom upon entering the Circle of the Soul. Over the three workshops we will work with initiation by fire. Each workshop will be offered from 1-5 PM in Victor, NY. $40 ($55 for non-CIRCLE members includes membership) March 6 - Shamanic Tools for Everyday Living April 4 - Shamanic Tools for Healing

for more information. Moon shadows - Did you ever go out on a full moon night when the moon is so bright there are shadows? Moon shadows are subtler than sun shadows, in that you must look more closely to notice them. Metaphorically speaking, moon shadows are like emotions that arise quickly, seemingly from nowhere, leaving us asking ourselves, "Where did that come from?" Or, they are the emotional responses to things that we believe are perfectly justified. Both are indications of these subtle moon shadows that are not fully in our awareness. Sun shadows are more like the shadow parts of ourselves that we are well aware of. These shadows can be seen by everyone, even ourselves. The moon shadow ritual is to ask both before you go to sleep and when you wake in the morning for three days around the full moon, "What moon shadows do I have that are affecting my emotional response?" Then pay very close attention to your night dreams, what happens during the day, how your buttons get pushed, awareness that surfaces, and things people say to you. Take good notes on all of this and how it relates to the question. Then draw with crayons or colored pencils with an intent to see the moon shadow more clearly. Name your drawing. Then add to the drawing what it would look like if this shadow was in the light. Rename your drawing. Take one step toward bringing light to this moon shadow between now and the next full moon. Moon shadows stalk me I call them gently Journey to the Inner Sun- Get in a comfortable position
and take a few deep breaths, remembering to ground yourself deeply into
the Earth. Imagine that you are walking toward a door. This door might
be brightly colored or carved, or it could be just an ordinary door. You
notice there are streams of light that are coming from under the door,
through the key hole and cracks around the door. You put your hand in
one of these beams of light and it instantly feels a warm glow. You pause
a moment before placing your hand on the door knob and then turn the knob
and swing open the door. Golden light flows over you like a warm breeze
and you allow your eyes to adjust to the brightness. As you step through
the doorway you notice a feeling of lightness, like you are almost floating.
The light seems to come from everywhere at once as you feel yourself bathed
in its warm vibration. As your eyes adjust, you notice an energy that
seems to be the source of this radiant light. It is your heart sun and
you reach out for it, gently moving it into the center of your chest where
you feel it radiating out from you in all directions. Now you move back
out through the doorway and the light around you continues to radiate
from the heart sun that is now in your chest. You turn to look behind
you noticing that there are no shadows, only brightness. As you return
to the awareness of your body with a nice deep breath, you can still feel
the light shining brightly from within you. Sun within my
heart I am and I shine
New Insights on Memory I keep wondering what is happening to my memory. It could
be that I am just getting old, although that doesn't really explain why
younger people are experiencing the same problem. Plus, I hear it from
nearly everyone and there are even internet jokes going around about it
- you know, where you go to turn on the computer and see the mail that
needs to be mailed and you pick it up to take it out to the mail box but
on the way you see that the plants need watering, so you set down the
mail to go get the water can but pass the sink where the dishes need doing
.and
at the end of the day nothing is done. For a while I was accepting the theory that my DNA and/or
brain was being rewired and it was a little like upgrading the memory
in a computer - some things are lost or temporarily unavailable. But recently
I have a new theory that I am testing. I had heard once that species that
were becoming extinct on Earth were really going to a higher dimension
to wait for our arrival. I'm not so sure about that, but, I reasoned,
a more plausible idea is that our memories are evolving faster than we
are and that they are waiting for us in a higher vibration or dimension. This is certainly a testable theory and I invite you to test it out with me. Click here for the full article. If
