Full Moon (Introduction)

What's Happening?
Lots of things are happening this month. I am sending this
newsletter early to be sure you catch the energy of it all. First of all,
with the full moon on November 8th there is a full eclipse of the moon
visible in our hemisphere. This happens when the shadow of the Earth passes
directly over the moon, blocking its light. The beginning of the eclipse
is at 8:13 PM Eastern time. In addition a geometrically perfect six sided
(Star of David) configuration will appear in the sky, linking and balancing
the energies of six astrological bodies: the Sun, Jupiter, Mars, Saturn,
Chiron and the Moon. The name given to this event is the Harmonic Concordance.
Such a configuration at the time of a full lunar eclipse has not occurred
in recorded history.
The general feeling is that this is a powerful interdimensional gateway
for the transformation of consciousness. Eclipses have always served as
gateways for stepping from an old way of being into a new one, and this
eclipse combined with the six pointed star (in sacred geometry the basis
for the Flower of Life) should be a BIG doorway! The alignment is present
during a 6 day window from 11/5 to 11/11 with the exact time coinciding
with the lunar eclipse. There are many web sites with information on this
and many people are gathering at the time of the eclipse to chant, pray
and meditate together. Here in Victor, NY, we will be gathering in the
CIRCLE yurt at 7 PM. For directions email me.
Now if that is not enough, two weeks later is a full solar eclipse on
November 23rd (not visible here). The solar eclipse occurs when the Moon
passes between the Sun and the Earth, blocking out the light of the Sun.
When a lunar eclipse is followed by a solar eclipse, I generally think
of it as a time of initiation between leaving the old and entering the
new fully. It is clearly an important time to focus on our dreams for
the Earth and our visions for a new way to be humans on this sweet Earth.
So keep your energy clear and make the most of this window of opportunity.
The ritual and meditation provide some possible ways to focus your energy
during this time.

Ritual
Circles of Power - Over the last week an interesting
ritual has come to me for both releasing old things and empowering new
ones. First you will need to cut out some circles about 3-4 inches diameter
from blank paper or index cards.
For releasing work:
- on one side write what you are releasing and on the other draw with
colored pencils an image or color that holds the feeling of what you
wish to release
- place the circle image side up on an altar with a bowl of water over
it
- with prayers of gratitude, ask the water to wash it away
- each day remove the water bowl and look at the picture.
- if the feeling is still there, refill the bowl with fresh water (pouring
the old water on the Earth) and place it over the picture once more
- if the feeling is gone, give the water back to the Earth in gratitude
and either burn the circle or put it in recycling.
For empowering work:
- on one side write what you wish to empower and draw or color the feeling
of it being empowered on the other
- place the circle picture side up on an altar with a candle over it
- allow the feeling to grow as you read the words, look at the picture
and light a candle each day
- when you feel that the empowerment is complete, place the card in
a bowl or basket on your altar to continue to hold energy for it
You can work with as many circles as you have time to focus on and tend
each day.

Meditation Exercise
Doorway in the Moon - Relax yourself and
breathe to ground and open to the spiritual realm. Imagine looking at
the full moon rising big and bright against the night sky. You are bathed
in its silvery light, moonbeams dancing through your body.
As the shadow of the Earth begins passing over the surface
of the Moon, the reflection from its surface ceases and a transparent
window becomes visible. You move toward it and as you get closer, you
see that it is a very thin veil between this world and another. Even closer,
you peer through the veil and, if you choose, you can step through. Notice
what you see, hear and feel as you move through this mystical opening.
What is there that you might wish to bring back with you to gift to the
Earth?
Look around and find what you need to bring back and tuck
it safely within your heart. When you are ready, step back through the
opening and move slowly back to your Earth eyes that are watching the
shadow of the Earth slide past the Moon, revealing its soft, reflected
light once more.
You give thanks to the Moon and the Earth and the Sun for
the Dance that has allowed you to step through the veil and bring back
a gift in your heart. Feel the gift fill your Earthy body and run down
through your feet to the Earth Mother herself.

Procrastination or Divine Timing?

There seem to be three states that we find ourselves in:
resistance, flow or blocked. We all know what flow is - when we seem to
move effortlessly and everything feels easy and smooth. Resistance, on
the other hand, has a much sticker feeling to it - like you want to, or
feel you need to, do something but have a hard time getting yourself to
actually do it. We often call this procrastination. Being blocked, however,
feels more like frustration when you want to do something but the universe
does not seem to be cooperating. Click
