September Full Moon (Introduction) Joy is
calling me The Grail
is waiting What's Happening? As we move in this spiral dance toward the shifting of the ages, time seems to continue to be compressed as the spiral tightens. Yet the inner world is moving as fast as the outer world and who I was last full moon seems like both yesterday and years ago. Nothing to do but to flow with it and release the expectations of normalcy that we often cling to and hope we will return to. Nothing is "normal" these days except change and the unexpected. Releasing the old worldview and dancing joyfully into the unknown is what we are being called to do. It's clear that "we are not in Kansas anymore," and there is no going back to the way things were. So as the waves of anxiety wash over us on this realization, let us remember that the birth canal only goes one way - out of perceived safety into the unknown. We can fight it or flow with it, either way we will go the same way. Time is elusive Magical moments September 19-21, I will be facilitating a weekend retreat
called Dancing into the Darkness: Entering the Jaguar Dreaming Lodge
at Shequaga in Dansville, NY. We will be honing our skills as conscious
dreamers of our own lives as well as of the world. The fall Dancing with the Music of the Spheres Mystery School offerings will be Up and Down the Chakras: The Spiritual Journey Revisited on October 5th, Weaving and Mending the Fabric of Our Lives on November 9th, and Mirrors of the Soul on December 7th. These will be offered from 1-5 PM in Victor, NY. See the Calendar page on my web site for more information. Jaguar calls my name In the Jaguar Lodge I'm stalking a dream I breathe in its light
Learning from Trees -- Fall is a time of falling leaves. We can learn from the trees about how to release the attachments in our lives. The trees do not hold on to the leaves for fear that there won't be new buds in the spring. They just let go and trust the natural cycles. Spend some time with a tree and observe the quiet grace with which it lets the leaves fly into the wind. Collect some leaves and write on them with markers what attachments you wish to release - perhaps projects that are done, relationships that no longer feed you, or maybe the need to know what is next. Attachments prevent our smooth passage through the birth canal, creating obstacles and blocks in our day-to-day life. Choose which element you will ask to help you release these leaves. Toss them into the wind, into a flowing creek, into a fire, or into the compost pile to return to the Earth. This process can be continued over the two weeks of the waning moon. Mind is a freight train I leap the chasm Empty Hands -- On the full moon or a day or two before or after, sit in a quiet space and focus on your breath to clear your mind. Imagine yourself at the top of a hill. It is dusk and you are seeing the first stars appear with the faint glow of the setting sun in the West. You turn toward the East and wait, listening to the crickets and tree frogs begin the chorus of the night. Kneeling on the Earth you place your hands on the soft grass and the earth beneath it, releasing all that is not needed. You release the past and future expectations. You release all judgment about how things are. Only what is needed in this moment remains, which is nothing. Then as the moon begins to rise, you stand and hold out your empty hands to the moon, filling them with moonbeams and starlight. These subtle energies fill your hands and your subtle energy bodies, activating new potentials and greater awareness of the subtle energy fields. When you feel filled, bring your palms together to complete the circuit and then touch the Earth once more to ground this energy into the Earth plane. Know that you are different and, thus, everything is different. Come back into your physical body awareness. Empty are my hands Holding the chalice The House of Today Imagine a very large house with what seems like an infinite number of rooms. You were born in one of these rooms, and each day since you were born you entered a new room. At first going into a new room each day was an adventure,
new things to see and lots to learn. But at some point you became afraid
that some of the things you really liked might not be in the room of today,
so you brought a few things from the rooms of yesterday with you. Some
things were brought just because you liked them but others were brought
for protection. Many emotions were also packed up and brought along simply
because you did not know what to do with them and it seemed like they
were attached to you in some way. After awhile it got a bit tiring, dragging
all these things along like pieces of furniture to decorated the room
of today. So maybe you just left some of this stuff behind or went to therapy to find out how to get rid of it. Possibly life brought you the awareness that you didn't need it anymore. However that happened, there is probably a lot of furniture you left in those old rooms. But what are you still carrying into the room of today - old hurts, fears, beliefs, judgments, and patterns? How much furniture is crowding your room today, limiting the possibilities for new things to happen? Some Light Beings once said to me that if we could just
walk into the room of today empty handed, our lives would move forward
with lightning speed. Perhaps we keep our hands full to slow down the
process of change. What would it be like to enter the room of today empty handed,
trusting the day to unfold and approaching it as an adventure? Children
know how to do this. Animals know how to do this. Plants and trees know
how to do this. Many indigenous cultures knew how to do this. It would
be living the moment as it was meant to be lived. What is it that is so important to drag with you into today?
Many of you believe that it would be chaos if you didn't have your stuff,
your protection, your fears and hurts with you. Who would you be without
them? A good question! Are you curious enough to see who you are? Real
presence comes when you can see with the innocent perception of the child.
Of course it isn't as simple as letting go, or is it? Upon
waking tomorrow, consider what you will bring with you into the new room
you enter. Ask yourself why you need to bring what you decide to bring.
Write on a piece of paper what you are bringing with you and why you need
it. In the evening, look at that paper and see if you really needed it.
Repeat this process, being very intentional about what you bring into
the room of today from yesterday - expectations, judgments, emotions,
etc. The room of today Can I trust my heart If
