May Full Moon Eclipse (Introduction) Being and doing Earth energy flows Breathe life into dreams
A full moon eclipse!! Thursday, May 15th Earth will come between the
sun and the moon, casting its shadow onto the moon and turning it a deep
red color. The event will start Eastern daylight time around 10 PM with
the complete eclipse at 11:40 PM. Eclipses are like initiations or passing
through a doorway, there is always something that must be left at the
door as an offering that honors the way we were. It is an opportunity
to make a brief journey to the underworld to embrace the shadows that
have been following us around (perhaps not so quietly these days) and
integrate them into wholeness. The weather has been most turbulent in many places, shifting and changing lives - helping us to get clear on what is important in our lives. Moving to a place of love requires the release of attachment. It's not that we must forgo all the pleasures of being on Earth and live an austere life, it simply means that we need to be unattached to what we have. That means it cannot define us. The article this month is about heart living and detachment. Perhaps Earth is helping us along through our own experience and observing that of others, as tornados, ice storms, earth quakes and the like remind us of what remains when all else is swept out of our lives. The first weekend in June, I will be facilitating a Medicine Circle vision quest for women in Dansville. This is a wonderful opportunity to seek vision for your life by spending time out in a beautiful spot in nature. See the full description under workshops on the web page. Full Moon Eclipse Ritual - Prepare by meditating on or contemplating what old pattern is ready to be released. You might also do a shamanic journey to the underworld to find a shadow soul part that is ready to come back. Use a power animal or guide to help you retrieve this part. Another option would be to journal, draw or paint holding
in mind the question, "What must I release in order to pass through
this initiatory gate?" Once you have a sense of what is to be released
write it on a piece of paper. Be clear about what will be different in
your life if you release this. Prior to or at the time of the eclipse, burn the paper either in a bonfire outside or in a metal can inside. You might use the ash to mark your charkas, face or an object that you can put on your altar as a symbol of this release. Then be in a state of surrender to the movement through this gateway and whatever it brings into your life. Surrender to Love! Journey through the gateway - To begin this journey, relax your body and take a few deep breaths. Imagine yourself on a road in a beautiful place in nature. Notice that either an animal or guide is waiting a bit ahead of you on the road. The animal or guide leads the way to the place of initiation. There might be a passageway, gate, doorway or bridge that must be passed through or over. Before this opening you are asked what you are willing to let go of and asked to place a symbol of it into the Gatekeepers hand. You are then allowed to pass through and find yourself in a very special place that holds keys and gifts that will allow you to know the next step on your path. Spend some time here exploring. If you have questions, ask them of the guide or animal that came with you. When you have finished return to the awareness of your physical body. Journal about what you released and what you found. If you found yourself resistant to the meditation or moving through the gate, look at what part of yourself is blocking change. Mind running away Passionate Presence: Experiencing the Seven Qualities
of Awakened Awareness by Catherine Ingram. The seven inherent
traits of passionate presence are silence, tenderness, embodiment, genuineness,
discernment, delight, and wonder. Examples from personal experience are
given as guidelines for cultivating these seven beautiful flowers in the
garden of our lives. Love and Attachment We have such strange ideas about what love is! Perhaps we received them from our parents who received these strange ideas from their parents and so forth back to some unknown time when the real meaning was lost to the need to control things on a physical level. Maybe it was when we lost the sense of ourselves as spiritual beings having a human experience and the experience became more important than the being. What is so strange about "love?"Click
